Shabbat

Friday night Shabbat services are where our Jewish community meets most often.  On any given Friday night, we might have a new song from the choir, a service led by one of our Hebrew School or Sunday School classes, participation by an upcoming Bar or Bat Mitzvah candidate, a piece of liturgical instrumental music, a guest speaker, or something else unique and meaningful.  Every Friday night our worship includes a Torah service, a d'var Torah or an interactive Torah study, and afterwards an Oneg Shabbat with a Kiddush, home-baked challah, and other treats.  Friday nights are a time for us to join in prayer with Jews all over the world, to renew our spirits, to refresh our bodies, and to visit with our Jewish friends.  We invite you to share in this beautiful mitzvah and welcome Shabbat with our warm and friendly congregation here at Temple Israel.
